How Our Technicians Approach Condenser and Evaporator Service
When a condenser or evaporator fault is suspected, we begin with a complete system leak search using electronic detection and UV inspection to confirm which component is responsible. Misidentifying the leak source on evaporator problems is a costly mistake, so we confirm the leak before recommending dashboard disassembly.
For condenser concerns, we inspect the external fin surface for physical damage and blockage and test the inlet and outlet connection points specifically. We evaluate system pressures to determine whether the condenser is creating excessive restriction, which can indicate internal damage or blockage.
For evaporator concerns, we access the evaporator housing through the cabin air filter opening and the HVAC blend door opening where possible to inspect with a camera or UV light before recommending full disassembly. When the leak is confirmed, we proceed with the dashboard disassembly required to access and replace the evaporator, replacing all seals and the expansion device at the same time.
