What to Expect: Typical Service Times
- AC system pressure evaluation and initial inspection: 30 to 60 minutes
- Refrigerant quantity assessment with evacuation: 30 to 45 minutes
- Leak detection sweep: 30 to 60 minutes
- Compressor and component testing: 30 to 60 minutes
How Our Technicians Approach AC System Diagnosis
When a vehicle arrives with an AC complaint, we begin with manifold gauge readings on both sides of the system. These readings immediately tell us whether the refrigerant charge is low, whether the compressor is functioning, and whether there is a restriction or overcharge condition.
If the system is undercharged, we evacuate the refrigerant and measure the recovered quantity. The difference from specified charge confirms a leak is present. We then perform a systematic leak search, scanning each component and connection with an electronic detector and checking under UV light if dye is already present.
We verify compressor operation using gauge readings and direct inspection of the clutch. We check condenser fin condition and airflow. We measure vent temperature output to confirm the evaporator is functioning at the expected cooling capacity for current ambient conditions.
Once the evaluation is complete, we present all findings clearly before recommending any repairs or refrigerant service.
