How Our Technicians Approach a Coolant Flush
When a vehicle comes in for a coolant flush, we begin by testing the existing coolant’s pH and inhibitor strength to document its condition and confirm the service is warranted. We check the system for any active leaks that should be repaired before fresh coolant is added, since adding new coolant to a leaking system is wasteful.
We drain the system completely and flush the circuit to remove residual contamination before the new coolant is added. We fill the system with the manufacturer-specified coolant type at the correct concentration and bleed the system by running the engine and monitoring temperature while opening the bleed points specific to your vehicle.
We test the radiator cap and replace it if it is not holding its rated pressure. After the system reaches normal operating temperature and cools, we top off the reservoir to the correct level and perform a final leak inspection at all connections.
We document the coolant type used and the service date for your records.
