What to Expect: Typical Service Times
- Full module scan and code documentation: 30 to 60 minutes
- Wiring diagram review and circuit trace planning: 30 to 60 minutes
- Circuit-level electrical testing: 1 to 4 hours depending on fault complexity and location
- Wiring or connector repair after confirmed fault: 30 minutes to 3 hours
How Our Technicians Approach Complex Electrical Diagnosis
When a complex electrical complaint arrives, we begin by pulling every fault code from every module and looking at them together rather than investigating each one separately. Codes that appeared simultaneously across multiple systems strongly suggest a shared cause that we identify before addressing individual codes.
We pull the wiring diagram for the affected circuits and identify every connection point the affected modules share, including common power supply circuits, ground points, and any shared communication network wiring. These shared points are the most likely location of a fault producing multi-system symptoms.
We then work systematically through the relevant test points, measuring voltage, ground resistance, and signal integrity at each location until we find the deviation that explains the observed faults. Once the root cause is confirmed with measurements, we present the findings clearly before recommending any repair. Our 2 ASE certified technicians have hands-on experience tracing complex electrical faults across domestic, import, and European vehicles.
