Signs Your Vehicle Needs This Service

  • Brake pedal that feels softer or requires more travel to engage the brakes than it did previously
  • Brake fluid appearing dark brown or black when checked at the master cylinder reservoir; fresh fluid is nearly clear or slightly yellow
  • Vehicle approaching or past the manufacturer's recommended brake fluid service interval (typically every two years)
  • Brake caliper or master cylinder was recently replaced; any repair that opened the hydraulic circuit should be followed by a fluid flush
  • Brake fluid testing positive for moisture content above the manufacturer's acceptable threshold

Brake Fluid Flush

Brake Fluid Moisture Testing

Brake Fluid Moisture Testing

We test your existing brake fluid's moisture content using an electronic brake fluid tester before performing the flush to document the current moisture level and confirm the flush is warranted.

Complete Brake Fluid Flush

Complete Brake Fluid Flush

We flush the complete brake system, including all four calipers, the master cylinder, and all connecting lines, replacing old contaminated fluid with fresh brake fluid of the correct DOT specification for your vehicle.

Brake Bleed After Flush

Brake Bleed After Flush

After completing the fluid replacement, we bleed each brake circuit to ensure no air remains in any section of the hydraulic system and confirm firm pedal feel at each corner before completing the service.

Brake System Leak Inspection

Brake System Leak Inspection

While brake fluid is being replaced and each caliper bleeder is opened, we inspect each caliper and brake line connection for any seepage or corrosion that may indicate a developing leak.

What to Expect: Typical Service Times

  • Brake fluid moisture testing: 10 to 15 minutes
  • Complete brake fluid flush with four-corner bleeding: 30 to 60 minutes

How Our Technicians Approach a Brake Fluid Flush

When a brake fluid flush is scheduled, we begin by testing the current fluid’s moisture content and document the result. We then connect a pressure bleeder to the master cylinder reservoir and begin flushing fresh fluid through the system, starting at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder and working toward the closest.

At each wheel, we open the bleeder screw and observe the fluid flowing through a clear tube until the fluid running out is visibly clean and consistent with fresh fluid before closing the bleeder. We check pedal feel after completing all four wheels and perform additional bleeding if needed.

We top off the master cylinder reservoir with fresh fluid of the correct specification, confirm firm pedal feel, and inspect for any leaks at the bleeder screws before completing the service.
