How Our Technicians Approach Brake Line and Hardware Service
When a brake line or hose fault is suspected, we raise the vehicle and inspect every accessible section of brake line and each rubber hose. We look for external corrosion on the steel lines and for surface cracking, swelling, or wetness at the rubber hose connections.
For suspected hose restriction, we compare caliper behavior at each wheel by blocking the hose and testing whether the caliper releases normally. A hose that is restricting flow will cause the caliper to release better with the hose blocked, which confirms the hose as the restriction source.
For brake line replacement, we cut out the deteriorated section and install replacement line with the correct diameter and end fittings, forming flare connections that seal to the same specification as the original lines. We bleed the affected circuit after completing any line or hose replacement to remove any air introduced during the repair.
