How Our Technicians Approach Brake Pad Replacement
When a vehicle comes in for brake pad replacement, we measure the existing pad thickness at each wheel and compare to minimum specifications before removing anything. We inspect rotor surface condition and measure rotor thickness to determine whether resurfacing or replacement is needed at the same time.
We remove the old pads and inspect the caliper slide pins and caliper piston retractability before installing the new pads. We replace the anti-rattle hardware and coat the slide pins with high-temperature brake grease. We install the new pads and verify the caliper moves freely before reassembling the wheel.
After completing both wheels on the serviced axle, we check brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir and advise on fluid condition. We perform the initial brake application sequence to begin the pad bedding process and confirm the brake pedal feel is correct before returning the vehicle.
