We record every module that responds and every module that fails to respond, since a non-communicating module is itself a diagnostic finding.

We document all codes and freeze frame data from every responding module and then review the code list together rather than module by module. When codes from multiple modules share the same time stamp, the same affected circuit, or the same freeze frame conditions, we flag this as evidence of a shared cause rather than multiple independent failures.
